Where the Holiday Home and the park stand today, there were originally several properties composed of villas and rural houses, including “Il Romitello,” the “Sacred Heart” Villa and the “Villa Marcella.”<\/p>\n
The latter, because of its decay, was torn down to build in the 1960s a new building that was to meet the needs of a city undergoing a major urban expansion, as Rome was in those years. Today, this building houses the Holiday Home.<\/p>\n
In the 1950s, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Castres decided to purchase a piece of land to establish the Congregation’s “General Power of Attorney,” thus fulfilling a wish expressed by the foundress in May 1853, and also by the Holy See, to facilitate ecclesiastical relations with the Congregation.<\/p>\n
After Il Romitello, the acquisition of the entire property was completed over the years.<\/p>\n
The congregation was founded in 1836 by Emilie de Villeneuve, a daughter of French nobility. His ideal was to follow Jesus Christ and to serve the poor, the needy and the suffering, and that all activities of the congregation, directly or indirectly had this end.<\/p>\n<\/div>
